Details

1st Day: Wroclaw

Arrival to Wroclaw, check in the hotel, dinner

2nd Day: Wroclaw-Swidnica-Ksiaz

09:00-12:30 Visit of Wroclaw- city of 100 bridges- Ostrów Tumski (the Island of the Cathedral) with the St John the Baptist Cathedral,  the University with the Baroque Aula Leopoldina and walk to the Old City ended in the one of the most beautiful medieval market squares of Europe.

12:30-14:00 - lunch in a restaurant in the Old Town

14:00 - departure for Swidnica

15:00 – visit of the Church of Peace - the largest wooden 17th century church with a place for 7500 people. UNESCO World Heritage Monument.

16:00- transfer to the Ksiaz Castle.

16:30-18:00 -visit of Ksiaz, one of the biggest castles of Central Europe, a residence of famous for her beauty  Daisy, Princess von Hochberg, related with some mysteries of the last months of the Second World War 

18:00-return to Wroclaw

20:00-dinner in the hotel; evening walk in the Old Town 

3rd Day: Trzebnica-Rydzyna-Poznan

09:00-transfer to Trzebnica

10:00-11:00-visit of the 13th century Cistercian abbey with the St. Hedwig of Silesia Basilica

11:00-transfer to Rydzyna

12:20-13:00-visit of the Rydzyna Palace, a private residence of King of Poland Stanislaw Leszczynski.

13:00-14:30-lunch in Rydzyna

14:30-transfer to Poznan

16:00-arrival to Poznan, one of the first capital of Poland; visit of the historical centre with the Renaissance Town Hall and pictoresque Main Square, the Cathedral

19:00-check in the hotel

20:00 dinner

4th Day: Znin-Biskupin-Torun

09:00 – transfer to Znin

10:30-11:30- excursion with vintage train from Znin to Biskupin 

11:30-14:00 -visit of the Biskupin, 2700 years old wooden village discovered by archaeologists in the 20th century. Participation in historical peformances and lunch.  

14:00 -transfer to Torun

16:00-18:30-visit of Torun, a city with very well preserved medieval centre with tenement houses, the Flemish Gothic style Town Hall, defensive walls, the SS Johns Cathedral and house where Nicolaus Copernicus was born. 

19:00 -check in the hotel

20:00-dinner in one of the Old Town restaurants

5th Day: Malbork -Gdansk

08:30 -transfer to Malbork

10:30-12:00 – visit of the Malbork (Marienburg) Castle– the former capital of the German Teutonic Knights and the biggest European medieval fortress of brick

12:00 – transfer to Gdansk

13:00 – lunch in the centre of Gdansk

14:30-visit of Gdansk - Dlugi Targ (Long Street), the Crane. St. Mary's Basilica.  Visit of one of the  Amber Galleries with presentation. Tour of Westerplatte- a place where Second World War was started and Gdansk shipyards with the Museum of 'Solidarnosc".  Former Cistercian Abbey of Oliva with magnificient organs and the Sopot Pier will complete the tour of Gdansk.

18:30- check in the hotel

20:00-dinner with traditional music of Kaszuby, a very little known outside Poland ethnic group with their own language and tradition.

6th Day: Druzno-Ostróda-Elblag Canal-Masuria-Mikolajki

08:30-transfer to Elblag

09:30-14:30-boat trip across the Druzno Lake, one of the last natural sites of Europe with nest of wild birds. Then boat continues trip on canals, five times transported by land on rails-a part of the unique 150-years old system of Ostróda-Elblag Canal connecting lakes with the Baltic Sea situated 100 metres lower. Lunch on board of the boat.

14:30-18:30- travel across Masuria-Land of Thousand Lakes to Mikolajki

18:30-check in the hotel nearby the largest lake of Poland-  Sniardwy.

7th Day: Tykocin-Bialystok-Suprasl-Kruszyniany

09:00 -transfer to Tykocin

11:00-12:00 -visit of Tykocin, very popular place of rest for Polish kings. the town of Christians and Jews- visit of the 17th century Baroque synagogue.

12:00-transfer to Bialystok

12:30-lunch in Bialystok

13:30-17:00 – travel across lands inhabited by Catholics, Orthodox and muslim Tartars and also Protestants and Jews in the past. Stops for visits of one of the Orthodox centres of Poland- the Monastery of Suprasl with the Renaissance church of the Annunciation and Museum of Icons, then Tartar village Kruszyniany with the 18th century wooden mosque.

17:00- transfer to Bialowieza

19:30-check in the hotel in Bialowieza

20:00-dinner

8th Day: Bialowieski National Park-Warsaw

09:00-13:30- visit of the Bialowieski National Park, one of the last wild forests with enclave of the European Bison

13:30-15:00-lunch in the regional inn in Bialowieza

15:00-transfer to Warsaw

19:00-check in the hotel in Warsaw

20:00-dinner

9th Day: Warsaw-Kazimierz Dolny-Lublin

08:30-12:00-visit of Warsaw-the capital of Poland-the Old Town, the Royal Castle, the Royal Way,the  Lazienki Park and the Ghetto Monument 

12:00-transfer to Kazimierz Dolny 

13:30-15:30 -lunch in Kazimierz Dolny

15:30-17:00-leisure time in Kazimierz Dolny, place of artists, with old Renaissance houses, remains of the castle and old granaries

17:00-transfer to Lublin

10th Day: Lublin-Zamosc-Baranów Sandomierski

09:00-11:30 -short visit of Lublin: the Old Town and the Castle Chapel of the Holy Trinity with the Russian-Byzantine frescoes from the early 15th century.

11:30-transfer to Zamosc

12:30- 14:00-lunch in Zamosc

14:00-16:00-visit of Zamosc-"Padua of the North", 16th century town designed in the North Italian Renaissance style with some unusual armenian ornaments on some buildings

16:00-transfer to Baranów Sandomierski

19:00 -arrival to Baranów Sandomierski, check in the castle

20:00-dinner with the concert of ancient music

11th Day: Krakow (Cracow)

8:30 transfer to Cracow

11:00-18:00 -visit of Cracow: The tour begins with the Wawel Castle- the Royal Residence with famous collection of Flemish tapestries, Italian paintings and the Cathedral where Polish king were crowned and buried- a mixture af various styles including one of the best examples of the Italian Renaissance style -the King Sigismundus' Chapel; visit to the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz – a famous Jewish cultural centre for the Central and Eastern Europe-sinagogues -Old Sinagogue, Isaac's Sinagogue, Remuh Sinagogue , former market square, mykvas, cementaries. 

13:00-14:30 lunch in the centre of Cracow

Walk along the Royal Way with stops at churches of St. Andrew, St. Peter and Paul; the Jagiellonian University with the Collegium Maius -Copernicus' college; the Main Market Square- the largest square of medieval Europe with the Sukiennice (the Cloth Hall) building and the Dormition of Virgin Mary Basilica holding a treasure of the North European late gothic-the Veit Stoss Altar;the Czartoryski Museum with famous paintings of Leonardo da Vinci (the Lady with Ermine) and Rembrandt (Landscape with the Good Samaritan); the Barbican with St. Florian Gate-remains of medieval city walls

12th Day: Auschwitz-Czestochowa

08:30-departure for Auschwitz

10:00-13:00-visit of the extermination camps Auschwitz-Birkenau. Special tour of places where 1,5 mln people mainly Jews from all Europe lost heir lives. Place that shouldn't be forgotten. 

13:00-lunch in Oswiecim

14:15-transfer to Czestochowa

16:30-17:30- visit of the 'Spritual Capital of Poland' - the shrine of  Jasna Góra (Czestochowa) famous for 600-hundred year presence of the Black Madonna Image. 

17:30-transfer to Cracow

20:00-dinner in the hotel

13th Day: Pieniny Natonal Park-Niedzica-Debno-Zakopane

09:00-transfer to Sromowce

11:00-12:30-Embarkment on rafts guided by highlanders and trip on river Dunajec Gorges within the Pieniny National Park to Szczawnica. Pieniny are small but one of the beautiful among Polish mountains. Limestone rocks take beautiful shapes like Trzy Korony ( the Three Crowns Mountain) or Sokolica (the Falcon's Nest). The park is a shelter for many protected plans and animals like black stork or royal eagle.

12:30-13:30-lunch in a typical regional restaurant in Szczawnica

13:30-transfer to the Niedzica Castle

14:15-15:30-visit of the medieval castle in Niedzica, a place where a legendary treasure of the last Incas was hidden

15:30-transfer to Debno

16:00-16:30-visit of  the 15th century wooden church in Debno built without nails! Internal decoration with medieval polychromies and sculptures made this church one of the most precious monuments of Polish wooden architecture being includend on the UNESCO list

16:30-transfer to Zakopane

17:30-check in the hotel

18:30-19:30-short visit of Zakopane, winter capital of Poland and Tatra Mountains.  Panoramic visit of the town with traditional timber architecture.

19:30 -dinner in a highlander's restaurant

14th Day: Tatra Mountains-Wieliczka

08:00-transfer to Lysa Polana

09:00-14:00-excursion with horse carriages in the middle of Polish Tatra mountains - to Morskie Oko Lake, to admire the most beautiful panoramic veiws with the highest peak of Poland- Rysy (8000 feet).

c. 12:00 lunch in the hostel by Morskie Oko

14:00 – transfer to Wieliczka

17:00-19:00 visit of the salt mine in Wieliczka – one of the UNESCO World Heritage Monuments .Tour of  a real underground city with miles of corridors and hundreds of chambers-the most bautiful included in the tour with underground lakes, chapels adorned with real works of art made by hands of miners
